Home learning blogpost 3 2017

For this week's home learning challenge I have created a piece of art work for the classroom. Here is some pictures of me creating it and the final masterpiece.

can do's blog post 3 2017

For this week's Can Do's I'm going to write about Technology at Lincoln Primary School. This week at Tech we did robotics in Science. Milan and I had programmed our robot to do something, I have forgotten what we had programmed it to do though. After we had tried it out we came back and went to add more things but Milan and I had forgotten how to. We asked our science teacher to help us but he told us it was too complex and deleted our work, We weren't happy with that though because we were programming the robot to do things and he deleted our work. We dismantled the robot and packed it up as it was. Then we left and went back to school. I think i showed community by cleaning up after myself

As cultural ambassador you need to put out and bring in the New Zealand flag or other national flags as required, but you also need a timetable to say who puts it up or down each day. The timetable for Hussain and I is like, say I put it up on Monday morning he would bring it down on Monday afternoon, then he would put it up on Tuesday morning and I would bring it down on Tuesday after noon and so on and so on. So that is our timetable for putting the flag up and bringing it back down. I think the care value i showed was active thinking for thinking out this plan with Hussain.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

my leadership writing

In writing I have been learning to:
  • use all basic punctuation independently
  • attempt more complex punctuation (eg semicolons, colons, parentheses)

I have been especially focusing on using parentheses and commas. I have highlighted these in green where I have used them as well as other punctuation that I changed because it was used incorrectly. Here is a piece of my writing that shows this.

The 6 leadership traits are Integrity, Active thinker, Goal focused, Trustworthy, Resilient and Motivational.
I think as Cultural Ambassador I need to show all of these leadership roles in my role. Cultural  Ambassador
is where Hussain and I put the flag up and down each day we also organised  Cultural week with Mrs Ward. We also read the phrase of the fortnight at every whole school assembly which is every 2nd week. I think the one of the leadership traits i use the most is Trustworthy because people trust me to put the flag up and down everyday.

merit blog post 2 leadership 2017

This week the leaders had a meeting but me and Hussain had nothing to do with it but what we did do this week was put up the flag. Once this week me and Hussain forgot who was putting up the flag, I thought he was doing it and he thought I was doing it, Luckily I asked him if he had put it up yet and he said no so i said I would go do it unfortunately it was poring down with rain.

I think the care value I showed active thinking for making sure the flag was put up.

Home learning 2 merit 2017

This is as high as I can get with my family tree I have formed it on the computer so it is easier to read have a look at the photo below. Also in the photo you can see that for Neil grey (my mothers father) I could not go any further because he left her before she was born so I never got to meet him but she has meet him a few times.
Neil grey was on the Wahine disaster and Cecil Munro canceled his ticket two days before. Neil survived and saved a little boy's life.

merit 2 can do's 2017

Once again i was not at kapa haka cause i had a vomiting bug, but i left out a few things in my first kapa haka post so i will share those things on this blog post.
At the last kapa haka session i went to some people were learning how to do the  poi but this is my first year doing kapa haka so i cant do it cause i don't know much about it. what I did was sing a few songs with the rest of the group.
The people who were learning how to do the poi got to preform in assembly and also some seniors who did the poi showed the nationality group who came to see us on Cultural day. I think the care value i showed was respect because I respected that i was not able to do the poi, and carried on with what i was told to do.

games with minimal or no equitment

In PE we have been participating in a variety of games that require little or no equipment.
Below is the Matrix which shows our progression in this unit of learning.

Screen Shot 2017-03-12 at 12.32.06 PM.png

The table below shows my understanding of games with minimal or no equipment.
(Fill this table in, in as much detail as possible. )

Examples of Games that need minimal or no equipment.
What equipment would we usually need to play these games.
Why do we play games with minimal or no equipment?
1. tag1. bibs and conesin case we have nothing around us

My Strengths.
Some things that I have done well during this unit of learning are getting involved because even though i did not want to do it i did it

My Next Steps.
Some things I could improve on when playing games with minimal or no equipment are try a bit better  Because i don´t normally go full out when running

merit blog post 1 can do's

About two weeks ago i joined kapa haka cause i thought it would be good to try something different. Today i was sick because i hurt my neck so i can't really say anything about what they did today. But what i can tell you is what we did do on the first day. What we did was choose our groups non-performance or performance. Performance is where u go up on stage to preform and non-performance is where u don't go up on stage u just practice. We also got into lines for where we are going to stand if we were on stage. So that is what we did on the first day of kapa haka. I think the care value i showed was excellence because i joined kapa haka.

merit blog post one leadership 2017

This week at the leadership meeting we had Mrs McCloud. I had to do SML because I had been away so I had nothing to do, Hussain had gone home so he could not help me and tell me what we should of been doing. After a while we got called in to listen to the house captains presentation, it was about the bins and how we can earn house point by filling them up with rubbish. We also played a game of hot seat, this game is where u sit on a seat and then they give you a character,  the other people ask you questions and the person on the seat has to give an answer back acting like the character they have been given.
I think the care value i showed was active thinker because since i had no work to do i started to do my SML.
